The Sandalwood Community Food Pantry, established in 2009, is a non-denominational, non-profit organization dedicated to alleviating hunger on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. Founded by Rev. Dr. Nannette Pierson, the pantry began as a response to the growing issue of hunger among children at the Sandalwood Terrace Apartments.

The pantry operates on a “Client Choice Program,” allowing clients to select food items as they would in a supermarket, thereby preserving dignity and catering to individual preferences. It serves a diverse clientele, including senior citizens, low-income working families, the recently unemployed, and individuals in crisis. For those unable to visit due to disabilities, the pantry arranges deliveries throughout Beaufort County. ​

Operating every Tuesday from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, the pantry is located at 114 Beach City Road, Hilton Head Island, SC 29926. It relies heavily on community support, welcoming non-perishable food donations during operating hours and offering various volunteer opportunities. ​

Through its unwavering commitment, the Sandalwood Community Food Pantry continues to be a beacon of hope, ensuring that no one in the community goes hungry.
