The Sandalwood Community Food Pantry (SCFP) has been a cornerstone of support for Hilton Head Island residents since its establishment in 2009. Founded by Reverend Dr. Nannette Pierson, the pantry addresses the pressing issue of hunger in the community. Operating as a non-denominational, non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, SCFP assists families in supplementing their monthly groceries during times of need.
SCFP’s mission extends beyond merely providing food; it aims to nourish the bodies, minds, and spirits of all who hunger. The pantry fosters a profound sense of family among its clients, offering unconditional love and support that transcends everyday differences.
In addition to food distribution, SCFP offers educational classes on nutrition and food preparation, conducts monthly blood pressure readings, and is actively working towards building a resilient, amphibious pantry to better serve the community during natural disasters.
